Stephen Machua

Stephen Machua is a Public Policy candidate at the University of Calgary – School of Public Policy.

He earned a Master of Science in Global Urban Development and Planning at the University of Manchester through the prestigious Chevening Scholarship.

Before that, he graduated from Colorado State University with a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Social Sustainable Enterprise and the Technical University of Kenya with a Bachelor of Commerce.

Stephen Machua is a talented leader with an impressive record of service in international organizations like Mercy Corps, British Council, United Nations Volunteers among others.

His research contributions have been instrumental in understanding spatial inequalities in cities of the global south, socio-economic priorities of young Kenyans and prevention of violent extremism through volunteerism.

He is the founder of Afrom Media, a digital media start-up based in Nairobi and serves in the advisory board for Brainverse Technologies.

He previously sat in the boards for Cheza Sports Academy, Change Mind Change Future (CMCF) and Volunteer Involving Organizations (VIO) Society.
